One Question

I have one question to ask all you guys and would love for you to leave a comment or send me a message
The question: What is the gospel message?

3 comments:

  1. 1) All fall short of the glory of God- We all sin and deserve to go to Hell.

    2) Jesus, being fully God and man, came to earth and lived a perfect. He was killed as a perfect sacrifice in order to pay the penalty for our sins.

    3) He now offers us salvation. This is a free gift that we do not earn.

    4) Salvation saves us from the penalty of sin and sin.

    5) Saving from the penalty of sin means we will not go to Hell as we deserve, but instead we will be with God in Heaven. This is a done deal at conversion.

    6) Salvation from sin is a process. God is in the process of changing us every day to be like Him and to know Him more. He is freeing us from the bondage of sin.

So, how do we become saved?

A- Admit you're a sinner who needs saving. Know that you deserve Hell based on your actions.

B- Believe. Believe that God/Jesus/Holy Spirit is who He says He is. Believe that Jesus was born, died and rose again for the saving of His children.

C- Commit. Commit your life to Him. Pledge to live for Him, but know that you will need to be dependent on Him to make this happen.

If you do these simple ABCs and truly mean them you will be saved. Saved from the penalty of sin and sin. You will now be in a relationship with the Almighty God.

In a nutshell that is the Gospel message.

  2. I agree with everything Matt said. In a very brief explanation, I would say it is a genuine love story, showing a Father's love for all of his children that He would send His only son to die on this earth so that we may all be fogiven if we repent our sins, and love God with all our whole heart.
The Gospel is also the guidebook to Christian life that can provide answers for all of life's problems. It also serves as a "guide" to Heaven.
This is a few thoughts, that I wanted to share, without repeating a lot of what Matt said. Great question, and great response Matt!

  3. "If you do these simple ABCs and truly mean them you will be saved. Saved from the penalty of sin and sin. You will now be in a relationship with the Almighty God."

By "truly mean," this reflects a life change. If everything listed in Matt's description hits your heart and pierces you, you will want to change. You will desire God's intervention in your life. You will accept the new life that the Gospel promises us, sacrificing more and more for it.

Then you begin to draw closer to God. You mature in faith, and enjoy that intimate relationship that He so desires to have with us. To me, the Gospel message is all this that Matt and Chris listed...but especially to us ladies...it's a true act of love and intimacy. Picture what God did to have us close to Him again, to wipe the sin from us so we may be in His presence. No man on earth could ever live up to this...God is truly our perfect lover.
