If you were a German Christian during War World II, would you have take a stand against Hitler?
If you lived in the South during the Civil rights conflict, would you have stand against racism?
When your grandchildren discover you lived during a day when 1.75 billion people were poor and 1 billion were hungry, how will they judge you?
Now go read Acts 1-12
We are all called to do radical things, but some of us are called to just do things that don't seem so "radical". The 1st believers in Acts were kind of like plain cheese pizza. Boring but gets the job done.
But during that boredom, you notice how often they were eager to encourage and lift up the apostles. You see how simple our ministry really is based on how these first believers and the first church developed.
ReplyDeleteWe put so many "toppings" on our church pizza that we forget that the true essence of it (cheese=reaching out to others for Christ) gets hidden and covered up...almost forgotten.
