Questioning

So I was driving my friend back from DQ tonight than all of a sudden out of left field he just blurts out I'm not doubting God but I question a lot about him. Now these are the conversations I love the ones that aren't planned or rehearsed so your on the spot. My first reaction was I was in shocked. This guy is not even about sharing any type of emotion, so this pretty much blew me away! I don't know if this really sparked because prior to taking him home the Jehovah Witnesses came over and talked to us at DQ. I know that these guys get a bad rep, but honestly talking to these guys weren't bad at all. They didn't push anything on us. We actually agreed upon the church these days and we shared what exciting stuff is happening in this tiny town in Iowa. Before they even came over there were four of us. One girl left because she didn't want to talk to them. She didn't want to even start talking to them about faith. Now as "Christians" aren't we suppose to witness to people? If you can't even talk to someone about your own faith than how are you suppose to be a witness? Alright now back to the conversation I was originally talking about. We had a great conversation that lasted for like two hours. But ending the conversation left me with so many questions. Like you can say God is speaking to you...but how do you really know its him and not you speaking? How can you trust someone you can't physically see, speak, touch, or hear? How do we know that all of this isn't a joke? What it after we die all we do is rot in the grown and we really have no spirit? Is there really such thing as a devil? Could there possibly be angels protecting and demons trying to hurt us? If Jesus really loved us than why do bad things happen to us or people we love? One last thing sorry for this blog my mind is just one complete mess right now and I felt like I needed to write it down.

  1. I didn't realize that you had posted this when I talked to you earlier.

I like the distinction of questioning vs. doubting. I believe if you are a Christian and have never questioned then you've probably never thought either. Questions prove grace. What we believe is illogical by many standards but we believe it only through the grace of God.

What the Bible says is 100% Truth and you can bank on it. However, I love this post because you are being honest about the same questions the rest of us also ask.
